Product Information

Salactol Collodion is a wart paint used to treat common warts, verrucas, corns and calluses. It contains salicylic acid and lactic acid, which soften and gradually remove the hardened skin and help clear the affected area. It is painted on as a liquid that dries to form a film over the lesion. It must not be used on the face, armpits, breasts, the genital or anal area, on moles, birthmarks or hairy warts, and is not suitable for people with diabetes or poor circulation in the hands or feet. It can take up to twelve weeks for resistant lesions to clear, so it is important to continue treatment as directed. Salactol is flammable; keep away from flames. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or treating a child, speak to your pharmacist before use. Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.

How To Use

Apply once daily, usually at night. Soak the affected area in warm water for a few minutes and pat dry. Gently rub the surface of the wart, verruca, corn or callus with a pumice stone or emery board to remove hard skin. Using the applicator provided, apply a few drops to the lesion, letting each drop dry before adding the next. Cover plantar warts (verrucas) with a plaster. Avoid getting the paint on surrounding healthy skin. Continue for up to twelve weeks if needed.

Active Ingredients

Salicylic acid 16.7% w/w; lactic acid 16.7% w/w. Other ingredients: pyroxylin (in isopropyl alcohol), colophony, castor oil, industrial methylated spirit, ether.
