Product Information

Galfer 140mg/5ml Oral Suspension is a licensed oral iron medicine presented as a sugar-free liquid. It is used to treat and prevent iron-deficiency anaemia by helping to restore the body's iron levels. A 5ml dose provides ferrous fumarate 140mg (equivalent to approximately 45mg of elemental iron). It may turn the stools dark, which is harmless, and can cause stomach upset, constipation or diarrhoea in some people. Keep out of the sight and reach of children, as accidental iron overdose can be harmful. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please speak to your pharmacist before use. Our pharmacist is available for advice. Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.

How To Use

Adults and children 12 years and over: two 5ml spoonfuls once or twice daily, before meals or on an empty stomach, unless otherwise advised. For children under 12 years, the dose should be determined by a doctor. Use the measure provided. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Speak to your pharmacist if symptoms persist or if you are unsure whether this product is suitable for you.
