Product Information

Foran Magnesium Sulphate Paste is a traditional drawing paste used to help treat minor, localised skin conditions such as boils and to help draw out splinters or other small foreign bodies near the skin surface. It works by drawing fluid from the affected area. It is for external use only and should be applied to small areas of unbroken or minor skin lesions; it should not be used on large areas, deep or infected wounds, or near the eyes, and should not be applied to broken skin over a large area because it contains phenol. Stop use and speak to your pharmacist or doctor if the skin becomes more inflamed, if a boil or infection worsens or spreads, or if there are signs of spreading infection. Speak to your pharmacist before use in pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or for young children. Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.

How To Use

For external use only. Apply a thin layer of paste to the affected area and cover with a clean dressing. Renew the dressing once or twice daily, or as directed by your pharmacist. Stir the paste before use if the liquid has separated. Avoid contact with the eyes and broken skin over large areas. If the condition does not improve, worsens, or shows signs of spreading infection, speak to your pharmacist or doctor.

Active Ingredients

Magnesium sulphate (dried) approximately 38.5% w/w in a base of glycerol and phenol.
