Product Information

Ferrograd Folic 325mg/0.35mg Prolonged-release Tablets are an iron and folic acid medicine used to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia and to prevent folic-acid-deficiency anaemia, for example during pregnancy. Each tablet uses a controlled-release (Gradumet) system that releases the iron gradually over several hours, which can help reduce stomach irritation. When used in pregnancy, it is intended for use only after the first thirteen weeks. It should not be given to children under 12 years. Iron preparations can cause stomach upset, constipation or darkening of the stools, and should not be taken by people who have too much iron in the body or certain blood disorders. Keep all iron-containing medicines out of the sight and reach of children, as accidental overdose can be dangerous. Speak to your pharmacist or doctor before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines. Our pharmacist is available for advice. How To Use

Adults and children over 12 years: one tablet a day, or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew, crush or divide it. It is best taken before food. In pregnancy it is intended for use only after the first thirteen weeks. Do not give to children under 12 years. Leave at least a couple of hours between this and indigestion remedies or certain other medicines. If symptoms persist, speak to your pharmacist or doctor. Our pharmacist is available for advice.

Active Ingredients

Dried ferrous sulphate 325mg (equivalent to 105mg elemental iron) and folic acid 0.35mg (350 micrograms) per prolonged-release tablet.
