Imodium

Diarrhoea relief from Imodium is stocked here in two formats. The range covers Imodium Instants 2mg orodispersible tablets in a 12 pack and Imodium Liquigels capsules in a 12 pack.

The difference between them is how they are taken rather than what they contain. Instants are orodispersible, meaning they dissolve on the tongue without water, which is the practical choice when travelling or when swallowing a capsule is awkward. Liquigels are soft capsules swallowed with water in the usual way. Both carry dosing instructions on the pack that should be followed rather than exceeded, and both are intended for short-term use. Alongside any product, replacing lost fluid matters, and oral rehydration sachets are commonly used in parallel for that reason. There are situations where a product like this is not appropriate, including for young children and where there is blood in the stool or a high fever, which is why reading the leaflet and asking is worthwhile.

Imodium is stocked at Ronaghan's Pharmacy, a family-run Irish pharmacy. Always read the label and the patient information leaflet. Speak with our pharmacist or your doctor if symptoms last more than a couple of days, if you are pregnant, or if the product is for a child.
