Product Information

Lemsip Max Cough & Cold is a maximum-strength hot drink for the relief of chesty coughs and the symptoms of colds and flu. Each lemon-flavour sachet dissolves in hot water to make a soothing drink that eases a blocked or loosened chest, tickly and chesty coughs, headache, aches and pains, sore throat and fever. It combines 1000mg of paracetamol to relieve pain and lower a high temperature with 200mg of guaifenesin, an expectorant that helps loosen and clear phlegm from a chesty cough. This is the hot drink sachet formulation and does not contain a decongestant. Suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. Each pack contains 5 sachets. Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing product, and do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to your doctor or pharmacist. Always read the label and the patient information leaflet before use.

How To Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: empty the contents of one sachet into a mug, add hot (not boiling) water and stir until fully dissolved. If preferred, sweeten to taste with sugar or honey and allow to cool a little before drinking. One sachet may be taken every 4 to 6 hours as required. Do not take more than 4 sachets in any 24-hour period, and leave at least 4 hours between doses. Not suitable for children under 12 years except on medical advice. Do not take alongside any other product containing paracetamol. Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, or are accompanied by a high fever, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Active Ingredients

Each sachet contains two active ingredients: Paracetamol 1000mg, an analgesic and antipyretic that relieves pain (including headache and sore throat) and reduces fever; and Guaifenesin 200mg, an expectorant that helps loosen phlegm and mucus so a chesty cough is easier to clear. This sachet formulation does not contain phenylephrine or any other decongestant.
