Orthotic insoles from Powerstep are stocked here, covering ProTech full length orthotic supports in men's sizes 6 to 6.5 and 7 to 7.5.
A full length orthotic differs from a cushioning insole in what it is built to do. Rather than adding padding underfoot, it has a contoured arch and a firmer shell designed to support the structure of the foot, with the cushioning layer on top. That is why these are sold in specific size ranges rather than as trim-to-fit, since the arch has to sit in the right place to do anything. Full length means the insole replaces the existing one in the shoe rather than sitting on top of it, so taking the original insole out first is part of fitting them. Most people need a short adjustment period, wearing them for a few hours a day at first rather than switching straight to full days. If you have been prescribed custom orthotics, or you are being treated for a foot condition, follow the advice you were given rather than substituting an over-the-counter insole. Sizing runs in half-size ranges rather than single sizes, so check the range on the pack against your usual shoe size before ordering.
Powerstep is stocked at Ronaghan's Pharmacy, a family-run Irish pharmacy, alongside the wider foot care range. Browse the sizes below.
