The two are built for different skin. Gentle Skin Cleanser is a low-foaming, fragrance-light formula that can be used with or without water, which is why it is often recommended for dry, sensitive or easily irritated skin and for anyone whose skin feels tight after washing. The SA Cleanser is the one with salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid that helps loosen rough, flaky surface skin, so it suits bumpy or uneven texture rather than skin that is already sensitive. Starting slowly matters with any acid cleanser: every second day to begin with, building up if skin tolerates it, and following with a moisturiser. If you are already using a prescribed product containing an active, adding another is worth checking first. Bottle sizes differ between the two, with the larger SA bottle reflecting that it is usually applied over a wider area than the face alone.
